Next Stop, Palmyra New York

After a few fun filled days in Boston we hit the road with Billy's mom Marie, and his brother Jon and family to see some church history sites.

Our first stop was the Hill Cumorah. With all the set up for the play it kind of reminded me of a ski hill.

But the monument at the top was very impressive. Reading the messages and then hiking back through the wilderness was a very spiritual experience.I loved the spiritual aspect of this part of our trip.

Our family in front of the Palmyra Temple. Don't ask what WG is doing. We have no explanations.
This is a view of the temple from the Joseph Smith farm. It is actually built on the original farm property. Which is just so incredible to think about.

The Sacred Grove

It was so great to be in these places where the restoration of the church began, and to know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared in this spot. It was really a humbling and spiritual experience.

After the Smith farm we headed into Palmyra and stopped at the E. B. Grandin Print shop where the first copies of the Book of Mormon were printed. This was very cool and a lot of fun, on a church historical level, and considering the history of print.

just a sweet pic of our crazy Taz, being not so crazy for once :)

That concluded our day of Historical Palmyra New York. The kids were excited to stay in a hotel that night. We were just excited for them to finally zonk out!

So - I think you should blow up the picture of the grove - and frame it. That would be totally cool. And make a photo album - memory book of just the church history trip to put in your living room. Just my thinking. Your trip must have been so wonderful!!! Love that you guys got to go and experience it all!!!
