This election season has been long and never ending. I for one am tired of hearing about the candidates and their carefully constructed house of cards platforms. Recently there has been even more flagrant flapping from the media about the state of the economy and our country.
We are in a bad place. We are drowning in economic distress and moral decay and if you ask me these issues are inseparable. As we allow marriage to be desecrated in our country immorality and financial irresponsibility reign.
We have been promised that as we are righteous we will be blessed to prosper in this land. If our country as a whole chooses to embrace sin and unrighteousness we are no longer worthy of these blessings. If we as faithful God fearing citizens do not stand up for what is right we are part of the problem.
As marriage and the family are attacked by the evil hearts of conspiring men we are all effected by the consequences. Our children will be taught these destructive principles at innocent and impressionable ages. Our youth will be influenced by the destructive power of these philosophies.
So I want to encourage all of us to stand up for the sanctity of marriage with our votes and our prayers.
Nothing good ever happens when those with the knowledge sit around and wait for it to happen.
Each of us has felt the power of the Lord in our lives. Each of us has been blessed by the power of strong loving families in our lives in one form or another. Our country can not survive with out this power. It is our job to protect it.
Please do you part to protect us all.
Vote, and pray.

YOu hit it right on the nail.
Amen I agree..too many people are afraid to take a stand or just asume others will so there is no need for them to. This is my personal opinion our voices and votes really do count. Too many of us are realying on others to change things instead of doing something about it ourselves. And because of it our World is going to burn!
Well said.
It's a serious issue to consider. We don't want to deny people common courtesies, no matter what their sin. But the problem is: this is a sin...we need to recognize it as such. The is a difficult issue for me because I know and love several people who are in gay relationships, and while I care for these people, some take it as a personal offense when I state my views on this topic. I guess it's hard for anyone to admit what they are doing is wrong.:-( But we need to take the prophets warning to heart and keep our families and nations safe.
P.S. I can see you saying these words. Your face all into to it and stuff.
Such a funny view from Iowa!!!
Elder Ballard said we need to use modern technology for good. So go to the political blog spots and share your well spoken views! If we just talk in our own circles of friends, it does support and strengthen ours and our friends' views - but we need to let those with opposing views hear us - so the 'so-called' squeaky wheel that gets the oil' is those who seek out for good! You are quite articulate and understand very well the dangers of what's going on - So let it be heard on more than your blog!!! And you don't have to take family time away if you do your speaking by blogs or emailing those who speak for us - your congressmen/women and senators! And many t.v. people take emails as well! Go for it - you are good!!! And we need to spread the thinking of speaking out! And I mean it - you state your opinion very effectively - about more than just this subject -and you're always considering things of good to contribute to - GO FOR IT!!! Love you!!!
