So we just got back from our yearly trip to Hawaii (that we haven't made in two years due to Billy finishing his masters). We planned it strategically at the end of February when we knew we would be desperate for sun. We started the trip off with a bang with WG having strep, he confused us all by presenting first with Scarlet Fever and then the soar throat? I didn't know that could happen. So we got there late Saturday, Sunday of course was a relaxing day with church. Taz and Princess enjoyed the sunshine and running around outside chasing birds while we waited for WG to get better.

Monday we talked to a pediatrician who thought WG had hives so suggested benedril, that seemed to help so we went on a fun hike and enjoyed a black sand beach. The boys begged to only go to light sand beaches for the rest of the week, we don't know why. This is at the top of the hike, you can see where we end up in the back ground.
Taz was our winner on the way down. He has no fear and loved to run down the steep hill while WG needed a hand to hold and Princess road on Daddy's shoulders. There were a couple of fun swings at the bottom of the hike just before the beach, Princess loved them.
Princess and I on the black sand beach. Love the wind blown hair. It was a really nice day despite a little drizzle. Billy and Taz even got some whale watching in.
Amazingly WG, despite his sickness, beat us all back up the hill and it is a pretty good hike. Princess even went most of the way by herself. After she finally gave up I ran up the hill with her on my shoulders to catch up to the others, we never caught up to WG. Hiking is such a great family activity, the kids slept awesome that night :).
