There was Mayhem all through out the kitchen this afternoon when Mom arrived home with the groceries. All shopping prevented by the several natural disasters plaguing the area this week food rations had diminished below survival levels. As a result a full blown riot broke out amongst the native tribes when groceries were finally in sight. Bags were torn, broccoli went rolling, several cans were dented, and there was a primitive war dance done on the applesauce and yogurt. Finally eatable snacks return to the barren pantry!
Peace was eventually restored as the natives were subdued by chips, yogurt, and juice. The clean up is still going on and all things point to a long and arduous process. We can only hope as a community that next time government leaders will do more to prepare for these type of crisis and prevent such depletion of supplies in the future.
Rumors circulate that there was in fact quite a bit of edible food to be found but it was all rejected by the picky natives. We also heard reports that efforts to assist them in finding resources were rejected by screaming fits that left the volunteers helpless. Of course we can confirm none of this.
We can confirm that all resources have now been distributed and the natives are once more snoozing with full bellies. We send a big thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard to set things right in this time of crisis and to everyone who continues to work on the clean up efforts.
